Working with a long-standing client—a seasoned property investor—we were tasked with transforming a boring bungalow-style double-storey home into something truly extraordinary.
A Complete Facelift with Modern Elegance
The client wanted a home that felt more spacious, luxurious, and contemporary. To achieve this, we designed multiple extensions, including a rear extension and an impressive double-storey front extension, which were approved without hesitation. But we didn’t stop there.
The property underwent a complete exterior and interior transformation. The roofs were redesigned with steeper pitches, removing visible fascia and hiding guttering details to create a clean, modern look. The material palette was upgraded throughout, and all windows were replaced with sleek, modern designs, dramatically improving the home’s aesthetic. This major facelift was highly supported by the local council, and the results are nothing short of stunning.
A Layout Designed for Space and Luxury
Inside, we reimagined the entire layout to make the home more spacious and functional. The staircase was repositioned and redesigned to unlock more space on the ground floor. This allowed us to add a guest bedroom, a cozy reading room, and a main reception area, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The ground floor now flows beautifully, featuring a large open-plan area with clearly defined zones for formal dining, breakfast bars, and a utility room, along with a stylish family bathroom. Every inch of the space was carefully considered to balance practicality and luxury.
First Floor: A Haven of Comfort and Light
Upstairs, the first floor offers a sense of grandeur and relaxation. It now includes a grand master bedroom with its own ensuite, along with three additional bedrooms and a family bathroom. A large, light-filled hallway serves as a relaxation zone, bringing in natural light and creating an airy, open feel.
To enhance the modern aesthetic, we raised the internal ceilings throughout the property and installed large glazing at both the front and rear of the house. This not only floods the home with natural light but also enhances the sense of space and connection to the outdoors.
What’s Next?
After completing all planning, structural engineering, and building regulation work in-house, the project is now ready to move into the construction phase. The client is eagerly awaiting the start dates, and we can’t wait to see this vision come to life.
